I love margaritas, whether on the rocks or as a rock…sort of. I’m talking about margarita popsicles.
They are great for cooling down in the summer. They do require a bit more time and preparation than a regular margarita cocktail but they are worth it.
You can whip up your own Margarita Popsicle recipe using strawberries, watermelon, peach or any fruit that you can blend and add to your cocktail.
My favourite is this Mango Margarita Popsicles recipe. It just looks, and tastes, so summery. The mango adds a fun sweetness and creaminess to it.
Here’s how to make tasty Mango Margarita Popsicles.
Feel free to go wild with this recipe. You can add more fruits, spice it up with some jalapenos or add a twist with some mint.
What You’ll Need
Before you start, make sure you have a Popsicle mould on hand. If you don’t have one, you can DIY a few moulds using paper cups and popsicle sticks.
Here’s what else you’ll need.
- 4 cups chopped mangoes. Look for well ripe mangoes to get maximum sweetness.
- 75ml Tequila
- 90ml syrup or agave nectar
- 90ml lime juice
- Some raspberries or strawberries, sliced
How to Prepare
There’s no special way to do this Mango Margarita Popsicles recipe. Just put all the ingredients in a blender or cocktail making kit and blend until you get a smooth consistency.
You can add a pinch of salt to balance the strong tastes from the lime juice and Tequila.
Pour the blended mixture in your mould cups and placed some sliced raspberries or strawberries on top. You can leave out this step if you want your mango margarita popsicles a pure yellow.
Leave the mould to freeze overnight.
Remember you can adjust these ingredients as you see fit.
If you want less alcohol, reduce the amount of Tequila. If you prefer your popsicles a bit sweeter, add more syrup or agave nectar.
